It has less horsepower than the older style of 200, but the torque has been increased for more acceleration power. It comes in eight different trim levels: S, S with 4MOTION®, SE, SE with 4MOTION®, SEL, SEL with 4MOTION®, SEL Premium and SEL Premium with 4MOTION®, each of which can be broadly customized to the specific desires of the buyer. 4MOTION® is the 4-wheel drive system for Volkswagen.

The all-new 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan has grown larger than its predecessor and offers a 3rd row seating option. Other upgrades gives tech lovers an appreciation for the latest and greates smart phone technology and safety features like lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking.

2018 Ford Edge

The 2018 Edge, by comparison, comes in only three trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium and Sport.  These levels offer fewer options and customization than the extra level of the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, and it comes standard with front-wheel drive, six-speed automatic transmission, and a four-cylinder engine.

While the dimensions are slightly larger to those of the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan and the  interior space is more comfortable, in the end, the standard front-wheel drive and fewer trim levels equate to a lower overall default performance for the Edge. Adding all-wheel drive raises the price of the vehicle, meaning that the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan outshines its competition in this area as well.

When it comes to performance, options, and comfort, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan outshines  the Ford Edge in many ways, which isn't surprising from a vehicle with such a great legacy of dependability and reliability as Volkswagen.
